In 1786, Kant publishes a relatively short work with the title Metaphysical Foundations of Natural Science (MAN). As he states in the preface, the goal of the work is to give an overview of the conceps and principles that determine a priori the concept of matter. Although the concept of matter is itself an empirical concept, Kant thinks that it is possible to give such an overview by following the structure of the table of categories that he gave in the Critique of Pure Reason. In the seminar, we will try to understand the exact nature of Kant's enterprise in the MAN.
