SUMMARY:

This research considers the game an important pedagogical resource to be used in Geography Teaching. The objective was to develop an analog game aimed at spatial reading, necessary to understand the region of the Seridó Potiguar, entitled Geographical Table of the Seridó Potiguar. As well as characterizing School Geography in the Initial Years of Elementary School, correlating with the objects of knowledge of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) and the Curricular Document of the State of Rio Grande do Norte (DCRN), related to issues of the Seridó region Potiguar, as a projection for the development of the product and to develop the geographic board considering the level of knowledge identified about the geographic space of students of the 4th year of Elementary School in the public education network in Caicó/RN, aligned with the application of a didactic sequence as teaching guidance for the development of skills proposed in the game. The games provide the playfulness that include the student in a teaching-learning environment in the coexistence with other subjects and other spaces. Since Kindergarten, playing has been present in the school curriculum, making learning faster and more understandable in children, as it expands their cognitive abilities. From this perspective, we will work on skills related to local and regional cultural habits, as well as preservation, degradation, landscapes, relief, vegetation cover and characterization of the place. To theoretical support to this discussion, we sought the knowledge of several authors, such as: Callai (2004); Freire (1989); Kaercher (2000); Kishimoto (1999); Piaget (1971); Santos (1982); Tuan (1983, 1985); among others. When they realize that all our actions cause reactions and impacts, whether positive or negative, we are facing a new look at Earth. We are facing individuals who will make a difference from their location, with small day-to-day actions, building a more environmentally balanced world. Because, knowing and understanding your place of experience is important to understand the complexity of the whole (city, state, country, continent and planet Earth).
