RESUMO:

To think of evaluation in Geography Teaching is also to think about teaching and its socio-educational contexts, which includes considering space and school culture, time and the subjects involved in this context. The present study aims to analyze the implications of the National High School Examination (ENEM) on the evaluation methodologies used by teachers of Geography, in high school classes, public schools Of Natal-RN. For this, the work is theoretically based on authors who are at the interface between Geography, education and education, such as Morin (2014), Santos (2006), Vesentini (2009/2013), Tardif (2002) , Schön (1995), Ramalho; Núñez (2011), Luckesi (2011) and Hoffman (2003). The study was developed based on an exploratory research carried out in five public schools of Natal-RN, with the participation of 5 Geography teachers and 196 high school students. Methodologically, data collection was carried out in the microdata of the National Institute of Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP) and, for the definition of the empirical cut, the probabilistic sampling technique was used to select the schools surveyed. We used the qualitative approach for data collection and treatment, obtained through participant observation; Use of field diary; Questionnaires applied with students; Semi-structured interviews with teachers of Geography; Collection and documentary analysis. The contact with the school space and the preliminary results obtained with the research has shown that, from the directions proposed by the New ENEM, it is possible to think about methodologies and strategies of evaluation more contextualized with the reality lived in the public schools. Preliminarily, it can be seen that there are challenges to be overcome between what is proposed in the New ENEM, in terms of assessment of learning, and what was found and exposed by teachers of the public schools surveyed. Therefore, we think that pedagogical and research actions that seek to investigate the evaluation processes in Geography Teaching are relevant, since they can contribute to critical reflection on teaching and direct / sensitize to a more significant formative process of construction of geographic knowledge in schools Of Basic Education.
