Analysis of Segmented Optical Waveguide with Quasi-Periodic Sequence

In this work, the Vectorial Beam Propagation Method (VBPM) is applied in the analysis of quasi-periodic segmented waveguides. The VBPM method is developed in terms of the magnetic field transverse components, including perfectly matched layers (PML). It will be study some dielectric structures models such as: analysis of the sequenced rib waveguide and analysis of the rectangular waveguide constituted of pure silica immersed in a substrate of silica doped with germanium. The sequences are applied in the guiding region, combining different refractive indices. The computational simulation is obtained using FORTRAN 2008 language in conjunction with MATLAB® software.
