The Pedagogical applicability of the Youtube Interface in the teaching of the Periodic Table in High School

RESUMO:

The present research aimed to investigate the applicability of an audiovisual cultural product - a channel on the YouTube platform developed by the students - in order to expand the pedagogical potential of the use of audiovisual cultural products in the teaching of contents involving the Periodic Table. We orient the elaboration of the product to spread the teaching of Chemistry, broadening the understanding and the interest of the student on the information of the Elements that compose the Periodic Table. We take as theoretical references mainly the author Leite (2015), who approaches in his work the teachings of Vygostky and Leontiev, especially in what refers to the Theory of Activity, which emphasizes the importance of the action on the part of the student during the learning process. We also consider Lemos (2007) and Lévi (2010), researchers who approach the conceptions of Cyberspace, Cyberculture and Cyberdemocracy. In addition, the concepts set forth in the Law of Guidelines and Bases “Lei de Diretrizes e Bases” (1996), National Guidelines for Secondary Education “Diretrizes Nacionais para o Ensino Médio” (1999) will be observed, and the National Curricular Guidelines for Secondary Education ”Orientações Curriculares Nacionais para o Ensino Médio” (2006), which address the teaching of Chemistry from a global perspective, integrated with the flexibilities of insertion of the TDICs. The project was applied in a class of the 1st High School Series of a state public school in the city of Fortaleza / CE. The research, with quantitative-qualitative profile, was carried out in three stages. The first one consisted in the application of a semi-structured interview, in order to understand how the student sees the pedagogical potential of interfaces, such as YouTube. In the second stage, the students created an audiovisual cultural product, called "Quimitubers", giving information, curiosities and applicabilities of elements of the Periodic Table. Finally, we cross-cut the information collected before and after the experiment with the Youtube channel. With the elaboration of the educational product, we show that the adopted strategy can become an important tool so that the students can establish a direct connection with the teaching-learning process, strengthening the idea of knowledge with an active construction, inseparable from doing.
