SUMMARY:

The monitoring of project processes is an important component that allows the presentation of valuable information during the development of projects. The analysis of informational flows with the support of information systems assumes a relevant role in the monitoring of projects, providing that the available resources are applied efficiently and effectively. Within the scope of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN), the Infrastructure Superintendence (INFRA) executes projects for new buildings requiring successful information management. In the 2018 period, INFRA built more than 30,000 m2 of area and processed a total commitment amount of more than R $ 12,000,000.00 (twelve million reais) recorded in its financial statement, which demonstrates the magnitude and complexity in the information management of these projects. In view of this organizational context, it is relevant to ask how the monitoring of architectural design processes occurs from the perspective of information management processes. In this scenario, a research of an applied feature, descriptive and with a qualitative approach, will be developed, having as research strategy the realization of a single case study that will allow the elaboration of a prototype of an information system module integrated to the information flow established for the monitoring of architectural design processes on a project board. Specifically, it aims to: a) understand the informational flow of monitoring architectural design processes in INFRA's project directorate; b) verify the adherence between the management information system (SIPAC) and the existing information flow; c) establish an integrative information flow model with a prototype of a management information system module. As a method of data collection, semi-structured interviews and documentary research will be used. Data analysis will be carried out through thematic analysis using codes and categories based on the theoretical-conceptual framework conceived through the theoretical foundation. As a result, it is expected that the prototype to be developed will contribute significantly to a future implementation by the competent sector.
