SUMMARY:

Focusing on technological dimension of Information Management (IM), this study enphasizes the contribution of Information Architecture to structure a database of transgenic animals, which aims to systematize exchange animals, information and experiences to establish and to expand collaborations between researchers and to facilitate transfer of valuable resources (ie, transgenic animals) for research in Experimental Biology. Thus, this research aims to establish guidelines to create a database of transgenic animals, with emphasis on mice, based on Information Architecture methods and techniques. For this, a qualitative research based on a case study will be carried out, with the purpose of gathering as much consistent information as possible to understand the studied object. To achieve the proposed objective, the research will be developed in two stages. The first stage, a bibliographic type, aims to collect data that will support the development of theoretical framework. The second stage will be descriptive and it will consider researchers perceptions about the creation of the Transgenic Animal Database, aiming to promote an exchange platform, through of interview and questionnaire application. For data analysis, content analysis and categorization techniques will be used, divided into three phases: 1) pre-analysis, 2) material exploration and 3) treatment of results, inference and interpretation.
