RESUMO:

The research aims to provide subsidies for the construction of an information policy in an IFES. For both other goals have been delineated aiming to achieve the desired intention. We initially mapped and described the management of information and identified the main policies implemented in the institution. We then identified and described the information system, and from there we were able to verify the management of information regarding compliance with the law of access to information, through the diagnosis of the institution. As for the methodology, it is an exploratory and descriptive study of qualitative approach and with the strategy of the case study. We use several other procedures such as the revision of the literature on information policies, information regime, information management and public information policies with emphasis on the Information Access Law. We also conducted field research with the main managers of the area of the study, through the structured interview, non-participant direct observation, consultation and analysis of the documents and normative instruments, as well as research to the website of the institution. We also consulted the annals of ENANCIB and ENANPAD of the last three years, as well as specialized magazines in the subject. With this it was possible to conclude that the surveyed institution has a good regulatory framework for information management, has an own information regime, and is prepared to serve in part what determines the LAI. We also observe that there are difficulties which compromise the establishment of a policy, but which is necessary, which remains clear and evident in the study. There is notoriously the need for conception, elaboration and institutionalization of an information policy, involving the formulations of the general guidelines and policies of the institution, which we do not identify in the research.
