RESUMO:

The management of information (GI) is a structured set of activities that mirrors the way in which an organization captures, distributes and uses information and knowledge. However, it is observed that despite efforts, still occurs in public institutions like the school of health at the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte, a lack of informational Dynamics to come meet the institutional needs in the preservation of important data for your daily life and your story, which refers to the requirement of creation, adaptation or deployment models and instruments that support the collection mechanisms for the reporting, assessment and institutional information. In this context, the present study aimed to contribute to the Office of planning and evaluation of Health, school construction, validation and application of an information-gathering instrument, as a tool to support the preparation of annual reports of the institution. The methodology used corresponds to action research, which provides joint actions between the researcher and participants. The research sample was made up of representatives of the sectors involved in the production of reports. The data collection occurred through meetings with the participants, institutional documents and analysis of management systems, with a view to identifying the information needed for the preparation of reports, as well as their sources, which resulted in the elaboration of a information-gathering instrument and the construction of a website for the Organization and provision of same. Thus, this study brought elements to enlarge the knowledge related to GI, adapting work processes and bringing them closer to the ideal models of information management. Finally, it is known that there is still a lot to go through to the establishment of an information policy for the School of health, however, the path has been trodden.
