RESUMO:

It addresses the theme of collection development with emphasis not on the process of weeding, its management and evaluation. Problems the management and evaluation of the collection of the Central Library Zila Mamede - BCZM in an effective way. Use as an action research methodology to obtain desired results and propose an effective solution. Make a brief history of the University Library, from the papyrus to the present day. Emphasizes the Information Relationship with Libraries and Information Centers. Discusses the Development of Collections. Emphasizes the importance of its steps, especially the weeding process. Presents the importance of a Roughing Policy. Research as guidelines and variables in the literature for a weeding stock. It presents referrals about the study and actions for a solution and answer to a raised question.
