SUMMARY:
Introduction: palliative care aims to minimize the suffering of people with incurable diseases, with an emphasis on the assessment and treatment of pain and other physical, psychosocial and spiritual symptoms. The elaboration and implementation of instruments for standardization of care contribute to the improvement in the assistance offered to patients, providing theoretical and practical support to professionals, thus justifying the realization of this study. Objective: to develop and validate an instrument for the multidisciplinary clinical assessment of people in palliative care. Methodology: methodological study of instrument development and validation, to be carried out from October 2021 to February 2022. The first phase will consist of a survey of the literature through scoping review, in order to identify the main components present in clinical evaluations of people in palliative care, as well as knowing instruments previously constructed and validated for the assessment of palliative care. The second phase will be the instrument design and the third will consist of content validation. Expected results: it is expected to develop a multidisciplinary assessment instrument that contributes to standardizing health records and improving communication, helping professionals in decision-making and in the planning of palliative care.
