SUMMARY:

Introduction: It is known that unintentional injuries and violence are the leading cause of death among people aged 15 to 29 years. Due to the complexity of the problem, it is necessary that the planned care protocol is complied with in its entirety in order to favor a quick and efficient reception, with identification of life-threatening situations at that moment and immediate resuscitation. The institution is also exposed, the lower the adherence to the care protocol, the more insecurity the patient will feel in relation to the health service. Objective: Carry out a cycle of improvement to increase adherence to the protocol of Initial Care for Patient Victims of Trauma at a public hospital in Cariri-Ceará. Methodology: Based on a quality improvement cycle, a quasi-experimental quantitative study will be developed, before and after, without a control group, carried out in the 2021/2022 biennium, following the SQUIRE guidelines. For the proposed evaluation, eight quality criteria related to the causes of non-adherence to the trauma care protocol were defined. Interventions will be planned and implemented in a participatory and multifaceted way, based on data and aiming to increase the health team's adherence to the trauma care protocol related to quality criteria. The ethical precepts of resolutions 466/12, 510/16 and 580/18 will be preserved. Expected results: It is believed that interventions planned with the help of quality tools will provide a more accurate identification of opportunities for improvement, increasing the chance of success in solving the quality problems found and favoring better patient care.
