RESUMO:

Introduction: As part of health care networks, secondary care services are known as specialized medical, diagnostic and therapeutic support services. Access to these points of attention is considered a “bottleneck” for the effectiveness of integrality in the SUS. In response to this scenario, through a government policy of the State of Bahia, the Regional Health Polyclinic was implemented. However, there is no adequate use of this service by the municipalities. Thus justifying the realization of an improvement cycle in order to optimize the use of the services offered. Objective: To optimize (make excellent or good) the use of the services offered by the Regional Health Polyclinic located in southwestern Bahia. Methodology: This is a cycle of improvement, a quasi-experimental study before and after without a control group to improve the quality of a secondary care and diagnostic support service in the interior of the state of Bahia. Expected Outcomes: Minimize the waste of consultation and procedure vacancies, resulting from not using the offered vacancies at an excellent or good level.
