Introduction. The urodynamic test is a diagnostic method that evaluates the storage and emptying function of the lower urinary tract. The test is complex, presents precise indications and requires interpretation and critical analysis of its results, and there is no consensual curriculum for teaching and evaluating skills related to the exam. Within the scope of gynecology and obstetrics programs, urodynamic teaching is deficient, which can impact the care costs of health systems and patient treatment. The Brazilian Health System Virtual Learning Environment (AVASUS) is an open and free virtual environment commissioned by the Brazilian Ministry of Health to qualify health professionals, students in the field of health and the general public in health. The use of a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) can be a viable tool for teaching urodynamic examination within medical residency programs. Objectives. Develop an educational module on urodynamics at AVASUS that can contribute to the training and continuing education of health professionals. To evaluate the results of using a VLE to teach the urodynamic exam within medical residency programs in gynecology and obstetrics, as well as the impact of a distance educational intervention on the acquisition of knowledge related to the test. Methods. This is a quantitative, descriptive, quasi-experimental study with a pre-test/post-test design in a single group, aimed at students from three medical residency programs in gynecology and obstetrics. An educational module on urodynamics was developed at AVASUS, under the guidance of the Distance Education Department of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte (SEDIS/UFRN). During the module, research participants had access to semi-structured questionnaires to assess the acquisition of knowledge about urodynamics, and also to assess satisfaction in relation to the content offered. Results. Production of an educational module on urodynamics at AVASUS capable of contributing to the training and continuing education of health professionals, providing scientifically solid information and resources to build a qualified health workforce. It is expected that taking a Distance Education Course can promote lasting improvements in skills and attitudes related to urodynamic examination, contributing to the training of residents and improving clinical practice within health services.
