SUMMARY:

Introduction: the interprofessional team at the Ana Bezerra University Hospital (Huab) works together to work on the frenotomy (FC) surgery process, with the dental team being directly responsible for this procedure in newborns, when ankyloglossia (tongue-tie) is detected). However, these professionals do not provide an online educational product that supports, directs and facilitates their teaching-learning process regarding this procedure. Objective: to build an online educational technology, of a serious game type, to support ongoing education on lingual frenotomy. Methodology: methodological study of creating educational technology, developed between August 2022 and March 2023, in a Federal public hospital linked to the EBSERH network, Brazil. It was carried out in three stages. Results: the educational technology was named QUIZ-FRENOTOMY and is available on a website so that hospital teams can use it as a way of teaching and learning about the CF process in newborns. Regarding satisfaction, it was observed that 100% were in favor of the inclusion of the game as an instrument to support learning; 88% considered that it facilitated the CF theoretical learning process; 99% considered that the content was suitable for the PA learning process; 99% considered it important to have an instrument to support PA learning like the game used; 100% agreed that the game covered the stages of the frenotomy process – and 100% also responded that they would recommend the game to other Dentistry teams who were going to perform frenotomy. As for suggestions for improvement, they ranged from the insertion of new question topics to the insertion of videos, however, without harming the purpose of the game. Final considerations: the game proved to be very effective for use in the CF theoretical teaching-learning process by the target audience and can contribute to educational interventions within hospital institutions that have the same profile as Huab.
