SUMMARY:

Objective: This research project was focused on the development and evaluation of a facial simulator model for motor skill acquisition for doctors in the application of botulinum toxin in hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm. Methodology: The project consisted of the development of a facial simulator made of layers of elastomer, among them silicone, which resembles human anatomy. Connected to this model, in a non-fixed way, there was an acrylic base to simulate the position of the face as it was in the dorsal decubitus or a sitting position. Doctors experienced in botulinum toxin application on these illnesses were selected and applied an Instrument of Evaluation of Learning Objects – LORI. Results: Produced a facial simulator and evaluated by eight doctors with expertise in application technique of botulinum toxin, the feasibility in the model in the process of learning and improving the motor skill.  Conclusion: An effective facial simulator model was developed to obtain the competence of the botulinum toxin application technique in hemifacial spasm and blepharospasm.
