SUMMARY:

Historically, the stratification of individuals' social roles according to the sex of their birth and the pathologization of sexual orientation left deep marks on how social acceptance and the provision of health services to individuals who have incongruity between their gender identity occur. and biological sex. This happens, with even greater emphasis, on trans-male individuals, who are socially discriminated against for their gender identity and still suffer remnants of patriarchal social ties for being female, having direct consequences on the mental and physical illness of these individuals. This document shares the experience of drafting the Protocol for Attention to Sexual and Reproductive Health for Trans Men through the city of Caicó-RN, with an emphasis on the provision of care in sexual and reproductive health. We seek to characterize the adopted strategies, as well as to debate the impact of this process, the challenges and perspectives placed for the future, using the application of this protocol as a fostering teaching environment, through which the objective is to improve the care offered to the trans-male and thus mitigate their barriers to accessing health tools.
