SUMMARY:

Interprofessionality is currently presented as fundamental for the training of health professionals who aim at truly comprehensive care for patients and teamwork. In this sense, the development of collaborative skills comes to help teachers and students to achieve this goal. Interprofessional Education recognizes and respects the specific assumptions of each profession and protects its identity. By dealing with the difference, it works towards achieving competency-based outcomes within a common framework. The general objective of this master's conclusion work is to propose elements for the construction of a matrix of collaborative competences for the Multiprofessional Residency Program in Health with Area of Concentration in Neonatal Intensive Care of a teaching maternity hospital. The proposal presented in this work was designed from the perspective of guiding the training and training process of residents, with regard to collaborative skills. This is a qualitative secondary study, of the bibliographic review and document analysis type, carried out at the Maternity School Januário Cicco (MEJC), Natal, Rio Grande do Norte. The sources of investigation were the Political Pedagogical Project (PPP) of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health with Area of Concentration in Neonatal Intensive Care of the aforementioned maternity hospital and competency matrices found in the literature. The study was carried out in two stages. The first consisted of a bibliographic survey about the collaborative skills necessary for the training of health professionals in reading the PPP and other matrices. The second stage aimed to build a matrix proposal that was developed based on four axes: interpersonal relationships and communication; professionalism and ethics; sense of responsibility and proactivity; person, family and community centered approach. Each axis presents the competences desired by the graduate of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health with a Concentration Area in Neonatal Intensive Care at MEJC. The purpose is that the proposal presented here provides elements for the elaboration of an instrument to assess the collaborative skills of the program's residents. It is believed that it comes at an opportune moment, when teaching at MEJC takes on greater proportions and rises to a new level, that of the professionalization of teaching. It is the moment when the vast majority of preceptors and tutors have already been trained for teaching and the need to improve practical processes, such as the evaluation of residents, arises.
