SUMMARY:

Introduction: The evaluation of educational strategies has great importance as a means of providing evidence based on the professionals' practices and important data for the evaluation of the action, in order to support its continuity or revision, an aspect that constitutes a fundamental step in the continuing education process. In this context, the use of Serious Games as a pedagogical strategy has gained prominence, as they go beyond simple entertainment and provide the development of practices and skills based on the simulation of critical situations that involve some risk or require decision-making, in addition to having characteristics that corroborate the profile of the current student. In this dissertation, an educational intervention using a Serious Game on breastfeeding with the Preceptor Nurses of the Multiprofessional Residency in Mother and Child Care at the Hospital Universitário Ana Bezerra stands out. Objective: The objective is to evaluate the effectiveness of a Serious Game on breastfeeding as an educational strategy with Preceptor Nurses of the Multiprofessional Residency in Mother and Child Care at a Baby-Friendly Hospital. Method: This is a quasi-experimental, single-group, before-and-after, non-randomized study, to be carried out in four stages: 1) Construction of a pre- and post-test instrument; 2) Application of pre-test instrument; 3) Educational intervention (Serious Game); 4) Assessment of satisfaction and effectiveness of the intervention. The pre- and post-test instrument consists of 10 multiple-choice questions, prepared in accordance with the guidelines of the National Board of Medical Examiners (NBME) and systematized according to the contents that make up the game. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee (CEP) of the University Hospital Onofre Lopes (HUOL) of UFRN, with CAAE number: 40424520.7.0000.5292 and Opinion number: 4.462.449/2020. Results: The instrument was developed a from a methodological framework adapted from Pasquali's psychometrics. The evaluation of the pre- and post-test instrument took place with the sending of seven electronic forms through the Google Forms tool, with the acceptance of six judges, from two Delphi Steps. The judges were selected considering their professional performance in assistance or teaching related to breastfeeding. After the modifications suggested after the first step (Delphi 1), the instrument was submitted to a new evaluation step (Delphi 2). After the new evaluation, all questions obtained agreement greater than 80% and CVC>0.8, being considered valid in their content. As for the assessment of the content validation criteria of the instrument as a whole, after Delphi Step 2, the instrument obtained a total CVC of 0.99. The instrument will be applied with 73 nurses who work in the Multiprofessional residency preceptorship before and after handling the Serious Game. Conclusion: It is expected, therefore, to contribute to the strengthening of education in order to qualify maternal and child care and improve institutional indicators.
