SUMMARY:

Sexual violence against children, adolescents and women is a serious social and public health problem today. Attention to these people requires the performance of professionals with not only relevant technical knowledge, but also skills and attitudes that enable effective and integrated care. Recognizing the crucial importance of education and interprofessional work to face this relevant problem, the objective of this work was to build a proposal for a Common Skills Matrix for interprofessional practice in caring for people in situations of sexual violence. We carried out a descriptive observational study, with a qualitative approach, which uses action research as a methodological path. The methodology comprised the realization of a workshop with 76 participants from different professions and areas of activity, to obtain written data and graphic representations about what knowledge, skills and attitudes foreseen for the care of people in situations of sexual violence. With the same objective, he was consulted with open questions to a sample obtained by 32 professionals who work in the reference services to assist people in situations of sexual violence in Rio Grande do Norte. Based on the analysis of the data collected through the techniques of Categorical Thematic Content Analysis and Collective Subject Discourse, a matrix with 15 common commons for an interprofessional practice was proposed. The product containing the competencies and their related knowledge, skills and attitudes was represented through a radial layout infographic. Among the attributes considered essential to the development of most of the common competencies established, the results point out: “to understand the importance of teamwork with professionals from various areas for the care network” (knowledge), “to serve people with agility and promptness in situation of sexual violence ”(ability) and“ being available to practice teamwork ”(attitude). These attributes reinforce the importance of intersectoriality and education and interprofessional work to face the problem of sexual violence. Additionally, the results reveal important challenges for the education of the health professions, considering that the outlined competences demand knowledge, skills and attitudes that are transversal to the operationalization of the curricula. It is concluded that the proposal of Common Matrix of Competences can contribute to base the interprofessional practice in scenarios of performance and learning in the services of attention to people in situations of sexual violence in Rio Grande do Norte.
