SUMMARY:

Objective: to propose a semi-presential course about Active Methodologies in Health Teaching for preceptors of the Multiprofessional Residency in Neonatal Intensivism. Method: methodological research, with prospective collection of mixed data, carried out in three stages (situational diagnosis, Scoping Review and construction of the course proposal), between April 2019 and March 2020. Participated of the research 22 preceptors of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Maternidade Escola Januário Cicco of the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee, under opinion number 3.180.283/2019. Results: all professionals started preceptorship suddenly and only one received training, 36.4% do not guide the practice and theory in an interconnected way, 31.8% do not know the active methodologies and only 27.2% use at least one type, without difficulties. Some of the weaknesses of preceptorship were the lack of time, training and a specific course for preceptor. In the Scoping Review, upward production was observed in the area of health education, probably due to the recent concern with the use of active methodologies. Regarding the use of these methodologies, the Inverted Tent and the Singular Therapeutic Project stood out. Some of the potentialities highlighted were: favoring interprofessional care and meaningful learning. While some challenges: difficulty to overcome the traditional teaching logic and pedagogical unpreparedness of the preceptor. A proposal for a semi-presential course on active methodologies in teaching aimed at the preceptors of the Multiprofessional Residency in Neonatal Intensivism was developed to support the appropriate pedagogical practice that promotes critical-reflective training for residents. With a total of 60 hours, the course will address what they are, how and when to use the active methodologies; the types of methodologies with their possibilities and specificities of use; and feedback to the resident. Conclusion: with the proposal of a partnership with the hospital to make the training institutionalized, it is intended to carry out the course, implement the use of active methodologies and evaluate the entire training and implementation process and, thus, contribute to the quality of teaching within the scope of the Multiprofessional Residency in Health.
