SUMMARY:

Childhood is a period that brings a quick physical growth, neuro psychomotor, sensorial and immunological development and language acquisition. It is also a critical and sensible period due to the health impact to the rest of life. Childcare needs interdisciplinary and interprofessionality to deal with diverse biopsychosocial demands that involve the child and his/her family. This research aims to analyze the process of incorporation of theoretical conceptual and methodological approach of interprofessional education in the childcare teaching to students in the different courses of health sciences. This study is qualitative, based on research-action, developed in three steps.  The first step is related to the elaboration of an educational program to interprofessional teaching in childcare; the second step is a pedagogical offer; and the third step is the evaluation of the educational program. The research diary is taken as the method to collect data in the first step, resulting in the e-book creation based on discussion group systematization. The second one consists in the observational register of the activities developed in the course and the Likert scale analysis about students evaluation. The third step is to collect data, to analysis writings of the students and teachers’ portfolios. There are nineteen students participating of this study from graduation courses of Nursing, Speech therapy, Medicine and Nutrition, and four teachers from each course’s department. Data from portfolios will be submitted to the content analysis, focusing on the following steps: fluctuating reading portfolios; meticulous reading; classification according to the object of reference; codification and determination of categories. Childcare as a space of interprofessional education and collaborative practice in health is a fact and can be reproduced, with a potential contribution to the best results in the health due to the training of students.
