BIG AREA: Ciências da Saúde
AREA: Enfermagem
SUMMARY:

Introduction: residencies are characterized by in-service teaching, with preceptors supervision in practice settings. The preceptor is essential in the training and professional profile of the resident. The majoritary of preceptors do not have training for teaching and some of them have difficulties in the process of teaching-learnings and in the critical training of residents, not guaranteeing the quality of teaching. The use of active methodologies contributes to the process of teaching-learning, promotes autonomy and motivates the student, encourages meaningful learning, expands skills and strengthens relationships between students and professors. Objective: to propose a semi-presential course on Active Methodologies in Health Teaching focused on the activities of preceptors and residents of the Multiprofessional Residence in Neonatal Intensivism. Method: methodological research, with prospective collection of mixed data, carried out in three stages (Situational diagnosis, Scoping Review and Construction of the course proposal). 22 preceptors of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the Januário Cicco Maternity School of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte participated. The study was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of HUOL / UFRN, under opinion number 3.180.283/2019. Results: no preceptor has a doctorate degree, 63.6% have never taken a course or training in the teaching area, 36.4% do not carry out the orientation of practice and theory in an interconnected way. All of them started preceptorship suddenly and only one received training, 31.8% do not know the active methodologies and only 27.2% use at least one type, without difficulties. Weaknesses were cited: the demand for activities and the performance of assistance; the lack of time, training and specific course for the preceptor; conciliate preceptorship and service; and assess the resident. As potentialities: contribution to the training of residents; performance in discussions with the resident; the preceptor's experience; share knowledge; professional updating; pleasure in acting in the area; and teach in practice. In the Scoping Review, there was an upward production in the area of health education, especially in 2016 and 2018, that can be explained by the recent concern of the preceptors with the use of active methodologies. As for the use of these methodologies, 13 types were mentioned, which stood out Inverted Tent, Singular Therapeutic Project, Core Wheel, Field Wheel and Interprofessional Education. The potentialities highlighted were: encouraging the exchange of experiences; favoring interprofessional care; meaningful learning from reflection-action; and improvement in the health care process itself. While challenges were listed: scarce time allocated to the pedagogical process by the preceptor due to the demand for activities as active health professionals; difficulty to overcome the traditional logic of teaching and service; and pedagogical unpreparedness of the preceptor. As a result of the previous steps, a proposal for a Blended learning course directed for preceptors of the Residence was elaborated, with 60 hours, addressing the themes: Active methodologies in health teaching; Types of active methodologies in health teaching; Feedback to the resident. Conclusion: a semi-presential course proposal on active methodologies in teaching directed to the preceptors of the Multiprofessional Residency in Neonatal Intensivism was prepared.
