RESUMO:

Given the evidences that confirm gaps in the formation of nurses in critical care, it is important to develop strategies to qualify individuals in the use of technological resources applied in life support. This is a methodological development study aimed at the construction and validation, in content and appearance, of a virtual learning object designed to facilitate the handling of infusion pumps, multiparametric vital signs monitors and mechanical ventilators, by nursing students and professionals. Thus, a website was developed entitled “UTI: Uma Tecnologia Intuitiva”, which addressed, for each contemplated equipment, aspects such as mechanics, components, indications of use and main alarms. Six judges evaluated the didactic material built for content and 24 users for practical applicability, through questionnaires with Likert-type scales and open questions. In both evaluations, averages higher than 80% were obtained from the Content Validation Index. Therefore, it is considered that the developed tool has semantic and content validity and is currently compatible with its intended purpose, having the potential to be widely used in the academic and professional area, contributing to the professional formation and to a more qualified clinical practice, based on patient safety.
