RESUMO:

The Intensive Care Unit is considered to be an environment conducive to the occurrence of adverse events, which may be related to factors such as a larger number of professionals involved in the care, a high use of invasive device and the accentuated use of hospital medical equipment in these areas There is also an elementary education in Critical Care in the Nursing courses, which is reflected in anxiety and insecurity in the care delivered to critically ill patients, mainly by students and professionals with little experience. In this context, the present study - classified as a methodological development research, with mixed approach, having the Instructional Design as a theoretical and methodological framework - sought the development and validation of a learning object that facilitated the handling, by professionals and nursing students, of the hospital medical equipment most used in intensive care units. The idealized didactic material sought to contemplate general concepts, mechanics of operation, main components, indications of use and main alarms of infusion pumps, multiparametric vital signs monitors and mechanical ventilators. It was sent to the evaluation of 06 judges, specialists in intensive care, with significant clinical experience in the area, who evaluated the quality of their content from a Likert scale, obtained for each of the equipment and material as a whole, a value greater than 80% of agreement, which makes it valid for the purpose for which it is proposed. Subsequently, the didactic material, already refined with the improvements suggested by the specialists, was inserted in a website, denominated "UTI: Uma Tecnologia Intuitiva", that has mobile interface, being able to be accessed at home, in the schools or at the bedside. Due to the values obtained in the validation procedure, it can be seen that the instrument can be used as a tool that facilitates the handling of hospital medical equipment, in the context of the training in Nursing in Intensive Care. From the development of this study, it was understood that, by training individuals for the correct handling of medical and hospital equipment in Intensive Care, a direct contribution will be generated for the student / teacher and professional training, fomenting the construction of a safer practice.
