RESUMO:

Introduction: The Face-to-Face Course in Humanized Care for the Low-weight Newborn: Kangaroo Method has guided a Public Health policy used by the Ministry of Health, Brazil, from 2000 and implanted in the Maternidade Escola Juanuário Cicco since 2002. It has served as a humanized care model to the mother and Newborns of Low Weight binomial, contributing to the reduction of neonatal morbidity and mortality, and has required trained professionals to understand and deal with patients who are so fragile and vulnerable to illnesses that even banal have become aggressive. Objective: Developing a methodology totally mediated by technology for human training in health based on the face-to-face model of teaching from kangaroo method. Methodology: It is an action research in which part of the methodological process is based on scientific research in theoretical approach to support the development of work and in the application of a course creation flowchart, mediated by technology for distance courses developed by the Laboratory of Health Technology Innovation and used by the Secretaria de Educação a Distância of Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte. The other part is centered on the work environment of three public health institutions in Natal city, State of Rio Grande do Norte. Significantly routine and problematic moments in the lives of individuals experiencing the phases of the Kangaroo Mother method will be described and shown. After the development of course, it was inserted in the Virtual Environment to offer the distance modality. Conclusion: A kangaroo method training using a technology-based approach to distance mode has democratized access to continuing health education in Brazil. With this, thousands of professionals and families will have access to the humanized conducts of the Kangaroo Method, which can serve as a model for the Single Health System.
