SUMMARY:

This work is part of a master´s degree research that deals with stories and life paths on behalf of teachers who were part of the Artistic Initiation Course of the School of Music of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte in Natal-Brazil. Thus, it considers their professional training and roles as Music teachers. The research deals music teacher’s education at the forementioned Artistic Iniciation Course (considered as a space for professional and human training) and aims to report the trajectories of music teachers and their relations within the course. The course at the School of Music of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte completed 60 years of promoting musical initiation for children and providing educational scholarships and training for monitors, volunteers and interns. The theoretical landmark considered works such as Nóvoa (2007), Bellochio (2016), Gaulke (2017) and Abreu (2023) to support the importance of this project for teacher training and especially those who teach and extend their knowledge within the music school projects. The research is of qualitative nature and will be developed from an (auto)biographical approach and life stories using a narrative interview script with open-ended subjective questions. As it is a study that deals with life stories and education, it is believed that it can serve as an experience for teachers seeking their initial and continued training and for those who work in teaching music in multiple contexts.
