SUMMARY:

This research is about the elaboration of five arrangements for solo guitar from the work of the Acre composer José da Costa Torres (Zeca Torres), based on the literature or works written for solo guitar, such as PEREIRA (2011), ROSARIO (2018), LIMA JUNIOR (2003), among others. However there are very few works about the work and life of this composer in local historiography. The objective of this work is the elaboration of arrangements for solo guitar based on the compositions of the Acre musician José da Costa Torres, as well as an understanding of the composer's life and work. For this, the scores of the compositions, semi-structured interviews and the record of the process of making the arrangements will be analyzed. The expected results are the elaboration of arrangements for solo guitar, the production of an unpublished work for solo guitar, a contribution to the local musical memory.
