RESUMO:

The present work deals with an autobiographical study in which an interdisciplinary relationship between the instrumental Performance/Pedagogy and health sciences. Observing the use of the fixed orthodontic appliance in this practice, it is evident some basic problems related to the functioning of the muscles of the face, which, being directly in contact with the mechanisms of embouchure, end up hampering the work done by the mouthpiece, as well as the use of the technique in the performative performance of the trumpet playing. Gaining a better understanding of this situation, this research is divided into three chapters, covering respectively the following topics: The embouchure of the trumpet playing: a review of pedagogical and orthodontic aspects concerning; An autobiographical account of the processes of adaptation and development of the trumpet embouchure at the expense of the use of the fixed orthodontic appliance; An analytical and evaluative approach to performance and technical performance. With this, it is presented the influences that the use of the fixed orthodontic appliance could infer to the development of the embouchure and the technique for the trumpet playing in question and the practical and theoretical contribution based on the discussions obtained from the references found, in the procedures used to enable development during orthodontic treatment, as well as in the exposition of the gaps and achievements os the experience lived by this author.
