RESUMO:

The present work aims to present data from an ongoing research, but in an already advanced stage of data collection and analysis. In the chapter that will be submitted to the qualification, the fifth, referring to performance within the context of Mestre Geraldo's Coco de zambê, presents data followed by analyzes that served as a basis for us to better understand how the complex networks of socialization mediated by music within that group. We present aspects about the family context, the work relations they are currently developing, about their relations with the symbols contained in the ritualization of their performance act, among other aspects. Also included were aspects that deal with change and continuity within that culture and the perspective of the subjects themselves regarding their music and how it serves as a strong element of identity affirmation and how it competes to be recognized as important subjects within the community in which they live and beyond. We also point to musical transmission as the guiding thread of all these sociomusical plots, serving, among other things, for this culture, even in constant process of change, to remain alive.
