RESUMO:

This work investigates the musical learning in the context of the individual practice session. Based on the concepts of conservatoire teaching, deliberate practice and self-regulation of learning, and on the works of Ericsson, Krampe e Tesch-Romer (1993), Bandura (1989; 1999; 2012) e Zimmerman (1989; 2002), it was searched to investigate the spheres through which the individual acts actively in his own learning process. After an analytical review of the concepts, it was found that the literal use of the most used theoretical models do not contemplates satisfactorily the specificities of the researched field. So, through the combination of the contributions proposed by different knowledge concerning musical learning, as the deliberate practice, the self-regulation of learning, some recent scientific contributions in the fild and even those related to the personal experience of the researcher, who is also guitarist and teacher, it was developed an own model, the Integrative Model of Practice Sessions' Planing. Then, it was observed the effective presence of the aspects listed by the Integrative Model in the routine of musical learning of the students. Through a case study, that consisted in the qualitative analysis of the undergraduate guitar students' practice habits, at the “Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte” university, it was possible to obtain significant data about the learning dynamic of the students, as well as to observe to what extent occurs the incorporation of the behaviors related to the deliberate practice, selfregulation and to the Integrative Model as learning strategies. At the end, it was verified the necessity of popularize the knowledge related to the active actuation of the students in their own learning process. As a complementary result, it was presented a large body of criticism to the conservatoire model of teaching, learning and practice of musical instruments – on which was based the Brazilian universities curriculum –, relating it whit some of the data collected with the researched population.
