RESUMO:

Places rich in pluralities, knowledge and cultures, public markets and open markets resist social, political and economic changes, even with the lack of incentives and inspections by the competent bodies. In this case, the Jaguaribe Market in Joao Pessoa and the free fair that takes place there on Wednesdays, which have been operating in the same space for 43 years, with very bad facilities, inaccessibility and insalubrity. Given its importance as cultural elements and economic equilibrium, the present technical and descriptive and justifiable memorial project deal with the requalification of the Jaguaribe Market based on the characteristics of the fair. Therefore, the concepts and history of the themes are discussed, as well as the perception of the neighborhood landscape through the systemic method, as well as the analysis of related projects. The project was first developed from the identification of the dilemmas and their respective goals, followed by the program and dimensioning of the necessary spaces, considering factors such as: the number of fixed or non-fixed occupants; the type of furniture and equipment required for the performance of the activities; the relation with the conditioning factors of thermal, light and acoustic comfort; their proximity and separation; the main targets to be met; sources of information; the sketches with schemes of implantation and distribution of the spaces. Simulations were also carried out on the behavior of existing buildings and the proposal in relation to the direction and pressure of the winds, through Flow Design software, and regarding the solar incidence at different times of the year through the Ecotect Analysis software. Another important factor for the design decisions was the definition of the elements and constructive systems, taking into account the low environmental impact and the constructive rationality. It is hoped that this work presents a reflection about the design process of a building that houses different activities and services in order to promote the integration between activities and users and between buildings and their urban context.
