RESUMO:

Based on the recognition of the historical importance of the education and health environments, with the evident need to humanize them, the architectonic project under development in this professional master's degree is related to the reform and expansion of the Institute of the Blind of Paraíba Adalgisa Cunha (ICPAC). The focus of the proposal is the humanization of these spaces, with an emphasis on their accessibility and orientation. The perception of users will be taken as a source of information for the design proposal, especially the opinion of visually impaired people, the target public of the institution. The methodology of the empirical work involves two stages: recognition of the current situation of the institution and development of the project proposal. The first stage includes: architectural survey of the building, through measurements, photographs, walkthroughs, application of poems of desires to fifty (50) users, semi-structured interviews with ten (10) key people who experience the daily routine of the place and realization of a guided tour with five (05) participants (01 blind person with knowledge of the space, 04 people who do not know the space: blind, with reduced vision, in wheelchair and with reduced mobility). The development of the architectural proposal rests on the analysis of precedents, the methods of constraint satisfaction and typology. In this examination of qualification it is presented: part of the theoretical reference in elaboration; recognition of the current situation of ICPAC; initial version of the intervention, preliminary study level. The conclusion of the master's degree is expected to happen in February 2018.
