RESUMO:

The purpose of this thesis is to propose a residential project for institutionalized elderly in the semi-arid region of Rio Grande do Norte, more precisely in the city of Carnaúba dos Dantas, and how it can be articulated to provide residents with a healthy and successful aging. In order to do so, we sought to use the bioclimatic and regional architecture, as well as the parameters of the environment, the sense of urbanity and habitability and the bioclimatic strategies for the Seridó region. It is also a reflection of how the simple application of the norm in this type of equipment to provide care for the elderly, does not guarantee an adequate project the physical and psychological requirements of these. The development of the preliminary project is based on a literature review process, study of architectural precedents for the theme and for the architectural party, determination of which ambience and humanization parameters for collective housing project will be used, and which guidelines will be used. Used to have a low impact project. The residential will be a Long Stay Institution in modality II, and will have capacity for a maximum of 22 seniors as determined by the norm.
