RESUMO:

This work aims to elaborate the project of an auditorium for the campus of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Paraíba (IFPB) in Guarabira that meets the sustainable criteria of natural lighting and energy efficiency, as well as the acoustic performance adequate to its use. The auditorium is a highly specific use environment and requires careful treatment of project development from the choice of architectural form to the specification of materials, because these factors influence its performance. In addition, because it is a public building, the auditorium must meet the legal and regulatory requirements that determine maximum energy efficiency and the adoption of sustainable criteria such as the use of natural lighting. Therefore, the problem to be solved is how to reconcile the need for a good acoustic performance and natural lighting and what kind of design solutions can be adopted to achieve the thermoacoustic performance required for an auditorium with the lowest energy consumption possible. For the development of the proposal, research was carried out on architectural acoustics, outdoor acoustic attenuation, design methods, sustainability and bioclimatic architecture, thermal comfort and energy efficiency, previous projects were studied, as well legal and project’s site constraints, and it were made simulations using equipments of Comfort Laboratory, simulations of shadowing using the software Solar Tool®,  and wind tunnel simulation using the software Flow design® in order to justify decisions on the project. The architectural proposal was designed to meet four premises: use the unevenness of the land to create pilotis for living area; maintain dialogue with existing buildings; minimize ground motion; seek an architectural form that would the audience closer to the stage; and enable space sharing in two rooms, for its development it were used AutoCAD and Revit Architecture software from Autodesk.
