RESUMO:

Uncontrolled use, waste and demand growth are factors that contribute to intensify the shortage of drinking water on the planet. Water shortage is one of the major global problems that can affect the survival of human beings and the use of rainwater combined with saving water practices allows the reduction of the supplied water demand by public companies, resulting the decrease in drinking water consumption and the risk of flooding. This paper aims to develop an architectural proposal for a horizontal multi-family housing in the city of Currais Novos, RN, with water conservation strategies and rainwater harvesting, based on rainwater harvesting solutions, drinking water saving and the bioclimatic strategies for the hot dry climate. From these concepts, this proposal presents a preliminary study of the project which will then be evaluated for potential savings and water supply.
