SUMMARY:

In this doctoral thesis, we aim to analyze the point of view and the enunciative responsibility in the academic discursive genre, the dissertation of master’s degree level, in the “literature review” section, regarding to the propositional construct uttered by the first speaker-enunciative (S1st/E1st). The theoretical assumptions are based on Textual Linguistics, as well as on Textual Discourse Analysis. Proposed by Adam (2011, 2017, 2022), the Textual Discourse Analysis is characterized as a theoretical-methodological and descriptive approach. Moreover, it follows the postulates of Enunciative Linguistics as per Rabatel (2013, 2016, 2021), Passeggi, Rodrigues and Silva Neto (2010), Rodrigues (2022), Cabral (2021). The enunciative is our level of analysis, on which we focus on the category of enunciative responsibility and points of view – represented, recounted and asserted. For Adam (2011), the subject matter of Textual Discourse Analysis is the concrete and the empirical text, produced in daily situations. Methodologically, this research is qualitative, documentary and descriptive-interpretative (Marconi, Lakatos, 2002; Marconi, Lakatos, 2011), in which we assume the mixed method (Moraes, 2003). The corpus consists of the “literature review” section of twenty-four dissertations of master, collected on the website of the Postgraduate Program in Letters (PPGL), from the State University of Rio Grande do Norte (UERN), Brazil, corresponding to the years of 2017, 2018 and 2019. The enunciative categories applied are spatial and temporal deixis, indications of mediating frames, phenomena of autonimic modulation, modalities, indications of perceptions’ support and reported thoughts, the point of view (represented and asserted). We selected text fragments from the “literature review” section in which the listed categories can be identified. In this case, in the textual, discursive and enunciative tessitura, the analyzed data indicate that the E1st, the author of the master's dissertation, developed the represented and asserted point of view, thus leading to the constitution of enunciative responsibility, assumed by the S1st/E1st in some fragments, outlining his authorship. However, in other fragments, the S1st/E1st did not assume the enunciative responsibility, imputing it to second-enunciator(s) (E2nd), known as words of authority, giving credibility to his text.
