LINGUISTIC LANDSCAPE IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS DURING THE PANDEMIC CHRONOTOPE: views of Teleaulas Natal Project teachers
Language. Identity Construction. Linguistic Landscape. Public schools. Teleclasses.
When the Covid-19 lockdowns started, the courses of the city’s education system in Natal were suspended. As a strategy to reach students, the Teleaulas Natal project was created, which consisted of recording telecourses for 9th-grade students in the system. This investigation aims to analyze the construction of a linguistic landscape of the city’s public schools in Natal in the pandemic chronotope, from the perspective of teachers and advisors involved in the project. This is a qualitative and interpretive research, developed from the interests of the study of Applied Linguistics, having as theoretical reference the dialogical and philosophical conception of the language of the Bakhtin Circle, the discussions on identity developed by Cultural Studies, and the studies that contemplate the concept of Linguistic Landscape. Data analysis indicate the relationship between television classes and emergency education, the choice of television as an accessible vehicle, the importance of the diversity of resources for mediating the teaching and learning process, the interaction in remote classes, and the teachers' experience.
