When poring over the classic books of Theory of Literature, it is clear that the Orient is practically excluded from these studies and, even in a time marked by speed and the great capacity for transmitting information, it is still difficult to find solid information about Asian works, leaving these marked as a marginalized literature. The Good Women of China: Hidden Voices (2003) is a work of non-fiction literature composed of testimonies by Chinese women transcribed under a literary aesthetic by the writer and journalist Xinran Xue. This dissertation aims to analyze the representation of women described through the memory and testimony of Chinese women intertwined with the author's life in an autobiography, which makes this work a hybrid genre. This bibliographic and qualitative study has as theoretical reference Halbwachs (1990), Ricœur (2020) on the study of memory; Lejeune (2008), Delory-Momberger (2012), Beverley & Achúgar (2002) on autobiography and testimony; and Perrot (2005, 2017), Lerner (2017) and Woolf (1928) on women and feminisms. It is hoped that this study demonstrates that the history and experience of women permeate a tradition of domination over women determined by patriarchy, in a similar way, in different cultures.
