SUMMARY:

Nowadays, audiovisual culture is something very present. It can be seen in videos circulating on instant messaging apps, on social networks, on TV and in movies. About this last, we know that films, before being filmed, are built from various verbal and iconic texts. With this as a reference, this research elects, as an object of investigation, the short-film metagenre and, consequently, the genres that constitute it: synopsis, pitch escaleta, script and storyboard. These can be used to constitute the short fiction film. In general, the study aims to understand and point out the processes of film bookkeeping and short film production in the context of teaching Portuguese language by high school students. More specifically, we aimed, in our research: 1); Analyze the genre bookkeeping process(es) that can be used to build the short-film metagenre in Portuguese language teaching classroom context; 2) Discuss the contributions that Literacy Workshops (OL) can offer to the development of work with textual genres that are constitutive of the short fiction film and 3) Identify the forms of intertextuality present in the writing process of the short genre. footage made by high school students. As theoretical support, we rely on Kleiman (1995; 2000), Oliveira (2008; 2010), Kleiman and Santos-Marques (2019), Cabral (2016; 2019), Bazerman (2006; 2007), Bawarshi and Reiff (2013). Methodologically, we inserted ourselves in the field of Applied Linguistics (MOITA LOPES, 2006) and were guided by the qualitative-interpretative research paradigm (MOREIRA & CALEFF, 2008; MOITA LOPES, 1994) and by the approach known as action research (THIOLLENT, 2003). The instruments used for data generation were: a questionnaire and an interview, in which students commented on the short film creation process-, as well as themselves, and the audio and video recording of the classes developed in the literacy workshops we taught in 2019. With these instruments, the following data was generated: comments written by the students on the bookkeeping process and on the production of the film, transcription of interviews and classes, textual genres written to create the short film titled 'Sara's Silence' and the film itself. The data are under analysis and, for now, the dialogue between the theoretical fundamentals and the interpretation made of the corpus suggests that the literacy workshops are a relevant device for the didactic-pedagogical purpose which, in our case, is the bookkeeping of the genres that constitute the meta-genre short fiction film. Working with the latter, favors the critical thinking of students, as its production requires adaptations guided by reflection on the written texts that make up the film and the conditions existing in the school for the realization of this audiovisual production. Regarding to the intertextuality, we observe the desire to dialogue with horror and suspense narratives.
