SUMMARY:

This research presents a study of tales from the perspective of teaching literature. To this end, stories with correlated themes present in the works Chão dos Simples (2014), by Manoel Onofre Júnior, and Rosa verde amarelou (2014), by Bartolomeu Correia de Melo, are analyzed. The objective is to analyze how the tradition of oral history, the humor and female representation are approached in the stories of the two authors, in order to indicate possible ways to work with these narratives in the context of the classroom. In relation to the analysis, firstly, it is observed how the culture of orality is depicted in tales, from the tradition of telling mythical stories in country town environments, having as theoretical support the considerations about orality and narrator by Cascudo (2006), Zumthor (1997) and Benjamin (1987). Subsequently, it is analyzed how the humorous construction occurs in the narratives under study through the contrasting game between the sacred and the profane, and the destabilization of male domination, taking into account the forms of representation of the backcountry woman. Thus, the analysis is based, above all, on the studies of Duarte (2006), about humor, by Bakhtin (1996), about the carnivalization and laughter, by Bourdieu (2005), regarding male domination, and on the concepts of woman-object and woman-subject discussed by Zolin (2009). In this sense, it is reflected on the teaching of literature today and its indispensability, from the theoretical discussions of Candido (2011), Compagon (2009), Todorov (2009), Cosson (2014; 2010) and Zilberman (2012) finally, to propose teaching methodological suggestions with the potiguares tales analyzed. These teaching proposals will start from the correlation between points of the Receptive Teaching Method, discussed by Bordini and Aguiar (1993), and from the dialogical teaching proposal presented by Cereja (2005), organized in didactic units, so that they can attend the reader training , critical, conscious and humanizing basic education students.
