SUMMARY:

The ethnic/racial minorities in Brazil have always been represented in the literatures, having been, in a first moment, characters of narratives, as antagonists, to formative narratives of the idea of nation in the texts written in 16th Century, and more recently, as protagonists, but represented by stereotype form in large part of these texts. These constructions contributed to the continuity of images that make up a negative imaginary about subjects and minority cultures. This change began through the literature written by these alterities, in which there is a noticeable change in the way of representing themselves, the communities, their cultures, epistemes, especially in indigenous and Afro-Brazilian literary productions for children and young people. The objective is to understand the Literatures of Alterities, Afro-Brazilian and Indigenous, Children’s and Youth, through literary texts, analyzing convergences in their aesthetic, political and literary proposals, realizing how they elaborate the idea of literature, ways of being in the world, ways of representing their cultures, epistemes, seeking an understanding of their specific literary fields. For the understanding of children and youth literature, the founding texts will be mobilized, backed by Leonardo Arroyo (1968, 1988), followed by the works of Regina Zilberman (1981, 1982, this one with Lígia Cademartori, 1984, 1986 and 2005), Nelly Coelho (1981, 1983, 1985), Marisa Lajolo (1982, 1986, this one co-authored by Zilberman), Maria Antonieta Cunha (1985), among others, looking for references to these alterities. Regarding to Afro-Brazilian and indigenous literatures, works that dealt the constitution of these literatures will be used, and it was thought as systems in their historical, theoretical and critical dimensions. For the first literature, the reflections by Eduardo de Assis Duarte, Cuti, Conceição Evaristo, Maria Nazareth Fonseca, Florentina de Souza, Inaldete Pinheiro de Andrade, Ione Jovino, among others, were considered. For the second literature, those by Graça Graúna, Daniel Munduruku, Maria Inês de Almeida, Janice Thiél, Carlos Augusto Novais, among others. This theoretical research, under development, will start from a bibliographic survey for the constitution of a corpus of children’s and youth literature: indigenous and Afro-Brazilian, which will be mobilized for reading and discussion, with a view to the discursive construction on these literatures, which, in the specific case of this research, will be based on the methodological-operative concept of the “constellation”, and their various usage dimensions, included in the intentional categories, for analysis of the literary text: ancestry; mediator, narrator / griot, nganga, or the elder; counting; readings; discoveries; teaching / education / literacies; group / community; languages (language, orality, writing, word); and transformations. Likewise, others, for extra-literary analysis, such as policies (of the book, the reading, the literature, the libraries, forms of archiving), the authorship (which also involves illustrators) and the arrangements of literary genres in prose.
