SUMMARY:

This dissertation aims to identify, describe, analyze and interpret the Enunciative Commitment in the Deposition Reports of violence against women – a discursive genre in the área of law and administration. To achieve this aim, we selected 6 Deposition Reports of crimes committed in Natal, which date from 2014 to 2017. Our theoretical framework is centered on Textual Discourse Analysis (heretofore TDA) studies that are derived from the field of Textual Linguistics (TL) and Enunciative Linguistics. We are informed by various authors, among them, Adam (2011), who considers the text in its indissociable relationship with the co(n)text, the discourse, and the diverse discursive genres. The work is based on studies of Point of View (POV), from the perspective of Rabatel (1997, 2004, 2005, 2008, 2008a, 2009, 2015, 2016), in light of their relevance to the studies of enunciative commitment, and on the postulations of Guentchéva (1994, 1996, 2011, 2014) with regard to the manifestations of the catergory, mediativity (MED). In this context, our work is directed by studies of authors within the field of Textual Linguistics, among them, Rodrigues, Passeggi and Silva Neto (2010, 2012, 2014), as well as being moored on the studies of  Bakhtin (2016), Lourenço (2013), Gomes (2014), Cabral (2014, 2016), Medeiros and Rodrigues (2018) and Rodrigues (2017, 2018).  Through the identification and interpretation of the point of view of the speaker-enunciator, of the transcriber, and the textual-linguistic resources, marks of enunciative commitment, proposed by Adam (2011), it was possible to identify and interpret the mediativity and the attribution of enunciative commitment in the Deposition Reports analyzed.
