RESUMO:

This thesis aims to explain how discursive representations of Dilma Rousseff and her accusers are constructed in denunciation and defense genres that are part of President impeachment process. Discursive representations are constructed in the text by interpretant, based on his goals, aims and intentions, as well as his world and culture knowledge. This research is built theoretically upon assumptions of Textual discourse analysis with Adam (2011), in the enunciative perspective, emphasizing studies on point of view, with Rabatel (2016), as well as on discursive representation, with Adam (2011) and Grize (1996, 1997). In the legal discourse, it is based on research by several authors, among them, Capez (2012), Lourenço (2013), Pimenta (2007), Rodrigues (2016) and others. Methodologically, it is a qualitative, descriptive and explanatory research. Text of Dilma Rousseff's complaint filed by lawyers Hélio Pereira Bicudo, Miguel Reale Júnior, Janaína Conceição Paschoal and Flávio Henrique Costa Pereira and President’s defense text, made by General Attorney of Union, José Eduardo Cardozo, were elected as research corpus. Impeachment process has been widely publicized in national and international media, so documents contained in this process are come from public domain. Thus, corpus collection occurred via electronic means. Analysis is performed through following steps: first, it is done a description of the establishment of the texts in analysis; second, text plans of the denunciation and defense genres are described, highlighting a fixed, formal, and normative structure in them, built from a legal and discursive tradition. The third stage deals with sequential composition of the two genres, by identifying that the texts present together the narrative, descriptive, explanatory, injunctive and argumentative sequences, with an argumentative predominance, since their purpose is the persuasion of their reader or auditorium. For textual sequences and according to the objectives of the research, narrative, descriptive and argumentative sequences are selected for discourse object analysis and selected statements are part of the section "Dos facts". Finally, in the fourth stage, it identifies, describes and explains how discursive representations of the analyzed discourse objects are constructed in the texts investigated. As an analysis instrument, it uses semantic or notional categories of Rd, namely: referencing, predication, modification, temporal and spatial location, connection and isotopy. In the complaint, preliminary results focused on the construction of discursive representation of Dilma from its designations as "President", "Maximum Governor", "Head of the nation", "Federal Government" and "denounced." However, use of elements and expressions that construct a Negative Rd of Dilma, mainly through the predictions, connections and modifiers, were identified in the excerpts. It is found that discourse objects are constructed for or against a certain discursive representation, according to the interests or the points of view of the enunciator, that is, according to the argumentative orientation that he proposes to his text.
