This research aims at understand the positive influence of the Koran in the construction of the Islamic feminism in Muslim societies. More specifically, this study investigates the dialogical relation existent between the religious discourse of the Koran and the theoretical, ideological and identity construction of the Islamic feminism. The data were selected from a corpus of interviews of three leading Islamic feminists known for their militancy in the defense of women’s right in Morocco and the suras of the Koran, the sacred text of Islam, in order to identify the presence of the religious discourse in their own discourse to possibly understand if the Koran is influencing a theory of an Islamic feminism and thus the identity construction of these women. For this purpose, a diverse set of references has been used. To analyze the dialogic relation of the suras with the utterances of the Islamic feminists, we have drawn on the work of Bakhtin and the Circle (Bakhtin, 2002; 2007; 2010; 2015 and Volochinov, 2010) particularly regarding the concept of dialogism. To understand the process of identity construction of these women it was crucial to deal with the cultural studies of identity following the work of Stuart Hall (2003; 2005; 2006; 2013), Woordward (2013) and regarding the concept of otherness, the reference of Duschatzky&Skliar (2011). Moreover, the feminist theories have been added to this research theoretical framework drawing on the studies of Consolim (2017); Ângela Davis (1982) and Judith Butler (1990) as for the feminism in the Western societies and the studies of AsmaLamrabet (2007/2012/2015); Stéphanie Latte Abdallah (2010/2012); Margot Badran (2010); SouadEddouada& Renata Pepicelli (2010); Malala Yousafzai (2013); Zahra Ali (2012) and Cila Lima (2014) as for the Islamic feminism.
