RESUMO:

This study seeks to work with questions of identity, gender and culture, analyzing the space that was relegated to women in the works Capitães da Areia (1937), by Jorge Amado and Terra Sonâmbula(1992), by Mia Couto. It comparatively analyzes these two novels from different eras, wherethere is the representation of sexual abuse against female and black characters. The study in Comparative Literature becomes important because the mozambican writer affirms that he - and other writers of his country and his continent - received influence of the brazilian writer. This research aims at analyzing the constructions of patriarchalism in the works, developing a relationship between feminist critique and literary texts, to identify the relations between art and life in each author, through a comparative study between the two literatures, paying attention to the description of rape. Some questions guided its writing, such as: what kinds of roles do the female characters represent? What are the implicit assumptions contained in the texts under analysis regarding sexual abuse? -That is, what kind of female representation is present in these works in the face of rape, and what cultural value is rooted in them? - of pretension to non-violence or perpetuation of ancestral values. This way sought to analyzes how these women are represented by these writers in the same situation - sexual abuse - since, often, guilt is inserted in the victim. In analyzing the works, it is perceived that they have descriptions of sexual abuse with different approaches, which refer to social issues and values instilled. One criticizes the aggressor's posture, the other objectifies the victim of abuse. There are different uses of lexical choices to describe the situation, in a narrative makes present the objectification of the female body and the presence of the white and colonizing man in another are responsible for perpetuating patriarchal practicesof domination of the woman's body, especially black. In order to do so, we will list as a theoretical contribution to contextualize the method of Comparative Literature and concepts of influence: Coutinho and Carvalhal (2011), Couto (2011), Nitrini (1997); In order to analyze the issues of identity, gender, culture and violence, the following reference will be used: Bonnici (2002), Branco and Brandão (1995), Butler (2016), Cixous (2017), Davis (2016), Foucault (1993), Gomes (2016), Moi (2017), Saffioti (1992), Solnit (2017), Zolin and Bonnici (2009).
