ABSTRACT
The purpose of this thesis was to interpret the processes of subjectivation released in the execution of the testimonies of faith, accessible through the thread of language. Concepts such as self-care and paresis, updated in the ethical moment of Michel Foucault's research, were the starting points for the understanding of the truths of the self and the discoursivization of happiness. The inferences come from five testimonies, taken from the calendar of campaigns of the Universal Church of the Kingdom of God (IURD). The narratives show how the movement of those subjects occurred in front of their own existence, always emphasizing the combination: Church and bliss. In the theoretical sphere of this examination, the discursive practices were reflected by connections with the philosophy and studies of the media. The methodological ballast, therefore, gained support from the analysis of the Foucaultian discourse. This openness, which has a stamp of Applied Linguistics (L.A), an area in which research is located, inevitably denounces the interpretative and qualitative character of our contribution. The triage of daily thoughts, sacrifice, conversion, salvation and economic rationalism, accessible by the opening of the witnessing self, functioned as structuring points of the testimony of faith.
