RESUMO:

The proposed doctoral research has as research focus the novel of costumes, Corner of Wall (1956), of Câmara Cascudo (1898 - 1986 - Natal-RN). We try to show that the writer remains a researcher, even in the production of the literary text, because the novel was produced through the daily behavioral observation of its animals characters. In it, the author breaks with the novel genre of human customs for romance of animals customs, introducing us a new form of modern, fable, in which animals are not large, as in traditional fable, but, those considered society, such as the cockroach, the bat, the mouse, the scorpion, among others. We think that Cascudo is telling us that we must observe the world in a poetic way, as suggested by Merleau-Ponty's (2002) reflections. The narrator of Corner of Wall is this restless being of whom Didi-Huberman (2010) tells us, which induces us to perceive that no truth is evident, but all of them are constructed through fictions, as Nancy Huston (2010) would say. We articulate these reflections with the thinking of the French, Gilles Deleuze and Félix Guattari (1995, 1996, 2002, 1997, respectively), as regards nomadism, writing as a war machine, deterritorialization, minor literature and becoming- animal. From this animal perspective, we also used the theory of Jacques Derrida (2011), which led us to reflect on the animal that we are and we realize that this was one of the foci presented in the fable constructed by Cascudo (1959); Maria Esther Maciel (2016) put us in contact with the animality that inhabits us and which also inhabits the Cascudian narrator. We follow our reflections with the help of other theorists, such as Michel Foucault (2013), Jacques Rancière (2009), Roland Barthes (2003; 2004), Ilza Matias de Sousa (2006), with the intention of showing that Cascudo stands as a thinker who, through literary writing, contributes with a different view of animals, thus escaping from the anthropocentric aspect. The questions developed by Cascudo in relation to the animals, are given by transversal routes, from the outside, in the folds, as directed by Tatiana Salem Levy (2011). According to bibliographical references, many other theorists accompanied us on this journey through the Cascudian universe, which is a qualitative and interpretative research of the Cascudo text and referenced theories.
