SUMMARY

 

The presente work delas with the investigation of the intertextual networks between the works Grande Sertão: Veredas, by João Guimarães Rosa, published in 1956, and Cartilha do Silêncio, by Francisco José Costa Dantas, 1997. We seek to make the writing through its similarities and diferences, as regards the analytical catergories of recollection associated with the figuration of silence and melancholy, as elements of composition of the novels. We tried to see in the actions of Riobaldo, the jagunço de la Grande Sertão, and the capitular characters of the Cartilha, the thread woven by the line of remembrance as a procedure of unending things marking the spiral path of the analyzed novels. In order to proceed to the critical examination of the works, we will take as Reading guidance on intertextuality, according to the critical study Tânia Carvalhal (2003), presente in O and own, followed by the dialogical perspective of Bakhtin (2003), Problems of poetics of Dostoevsky. The notion of literary system and tradition, we use the thought of Antonio Candido (1999), presente in the book Initiation to Brazilian literature. For the discussion about memory, we adopted the studies of Ecléa Bosi (1994), Memory and Society, and Le Goff (1994), Memory and History. Concerning the reflections on silence, we refer to Roland Barthes (2003), O neutral; Orlandi (2007), The forms of Silence, and Maria Lúcia Homem (2012), On the Threshold of Silence and the Letter. Our analysis brings a focus focused on the work of memory because we believe that it is the bias of the whole (re) construction of the narrative of the Sertão and the Cartilha.  So the storyetelling of the characters sounds like na expression. of fragmentation and discontinuity, instigating the returnable movement, but reworking it differently from the lived, breaking with the status of the same, proving to be a repetition that does not repeat itself but equal.
