RESUMO:

The present research intends to discuss the sociodiscursive strategies of appropriation of the hegemonic power of science in the texts of scientific divulgation in the magazines Superinteressante and Galileo. Based on the delimitation of two magazines per year of each vehicle and a semi-structured corpus of 16 data collected, the materiality analyzed consists of a set of six cover stories launched between 2013 and 2016. These vehicles, while they take the cover of science for themselves, enjoy a social control and  social prestige exercised by scientific discourse to the detriment of society classified as "lay" in relation to scientific knowledge. Therefore, the editorial networks of science dissemination have, as a locus of technical excellence, regulated the material life of citizens, acting as an Expert System, as Giddens (1991, 2002) has designated. Science is a socially crystallized discourse, and the magazines of science dissemination have been following in this wake to thrive in an economically competitive world. Therefore, we intend to demonstrate how the domain of scientific discourse, as well as that of scientific dissemination, provides access to material resources and instances of power. The research is based mainly on Critical Discourse Analysis, based on the works of Fairclough (2001 [2008], 2003, 2006, 2009), Chouliaraki and Fairlcough (1999) and the Sociological and Communicational Approach of the Discourse to analyze issues concerning Communication for Social Change and the types of power, from the propositions of  Pedrosa (2012, 2013). We also seek to reveal the discursive strategies of the construction of the hegemonic discourse of Scientific Divulgation, demonstrating the symbolic (ideological) modes of construction, through its character strongly marked by intertextuality and gender hybridity, and for this we will be guided by the Thompson (2009) and Feyerabend (2011) proposals. Methodologically, the research is situated in a qualitative paradigm, inserted in the scope of Human and Social Sciences, focusing on Applied Linguistics (AL). AL has been developing fruitful dialogues with critical social theories to build a field of study that extrapolates the relationship between theory and practice and takes into account all the interacting situations studied, breaking the logic of established voices.
